User management

The computer center creates and manages the computer center user accounts. Students, employees and other authorized users receive access to a variety of central services of the computer center with their computer center account.

Students usually receive their user ID by post from the Student Secretariat after enrolment. The RZ user ID is assigned for a period of time during which you are authorized to use the services in accordance with our user regulations. A procedure for checking the validity of an ID has been established, which results in an automatic notification when the authorization expires. Details can be found on the pages of the data center documentation.

To change your password, log in to the data center's service portal. If you have forgotten your password, you can obtain a new one by presenting a photo ID to the data center helpdesk.

Instructions for using the data center services

You will find a list of the data center's services, including brief descriptions, in the "Services" tab. In addition to this brief definition, you will find detailed descriptions of how to use the services and, in individual cases, additional information about their background, application scenarios and possible uses in the data center documentation.

Data center helpdesk

At the RZ-Helpdesk you will receive personal support for your IT problems in the university area - for example, when assigning RZ accounts, losing your password or the necessary configuration of a program to use central RZ services (eduroam, Stud.IP, printing services, software, etc.).

Simply come to the Computer Center (Erzstraße 18, Building B5, Room 043) during opening hours and follow the green arrows on the floor.
