WLAN RF Planning

WLAN RF Planning

The provision of a stable WLAN coverage is becoming more and more important in times of increasingly mobile devices such as laptops, tablets and smartphones.

A prerequisite for the correct operation of the WLAN infrastructure is the planning of the installation of access points (APs) in order to avoid problems due to interference, gaps in coverage, etc. caused by poor positioning. For WLAN installations, RF planning must therefore always be carried out, which the computer center offers to the institutes of Clausthal University of Technology. These include:

  • Planning the installation
  • Simulation of coverage/interference etc.
  • Measurement on site
  • Preparation of a measurement report.

If you are interested in setting up a WLAN/eduroam hotspot in your institute or on campus, please contact our support team for assistance and advice on setting it up.
