How can I access internal data and resources?

If you want to access certain resources of the TUC network from outside the TU Clausthal, you need a VPN connection to the TU Clausthal network. The computer centre offers a VPN gateway that allows an encrypted and authenticated connection to be established, thus enabling secure access to TUC internal resources. You connect to our VPN gateway, authenticate yourself with your user ID and password and from then on your computer is counted as part of the TUC network, even if there is no direct physical connection.

A VPN connection is only necessary if you are not in the network area (WLAN/institute network) of Clausthal University of Technology and need access to IT resources on the intranet (e.g. network shares/campus software, licence server, catalogues/directories of the University Library, etc.). From the student dormitories, no VPN client is required to access TUC resources.
